Rampant Ransomware
Another day, another ransomware attack. Keytronic, a PCBA manufacturing giant, suffered a massive data breach after the Black Basta ransomware gang leaked 530GB of stolen data. The company is currently warning its partners and customers about the potential impact and working to secure its systems.
Black Basta is a Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) criminal enterprise that first emerged in early 2022 and immediately became one of the most active RaaS threat actors in the world, racking up 19 prominent enterprise victims and more than 100 confirmed victims in its first few months of operation

More Ransomware!
Last week I shared the news of a massive ransomware attack affecting London hospitals. The impact has led to hospitals having to to cancel over 800 operations.
Ransomware attacks targeting healthcare continue to surge since 2022, especially since there have been large payouts, such as a recent $22M payout, incentivising more attacks.

Mozilla Security Update
Mozilla has introduced new security features for its Firefox browser. Users can now secure access to stored passwords using device credentials like passwords, fingerprints, or pins, adding an extra layer of protection. This is a very welcome addition as browser based password storage has historically been highly insecure.
