AT&T ATT&CK
AT&T has disclosed a massive data breach impacting nearly all its wireless customers. The hack exposed sensitive information, including customer names, phone numbers, and account details.
The attack has been linked to the recent attack targeting Snowflake customers. AT&T is currently investigating the breach and has implemented measures to enhance security and prevent future incidents.
Digital Mercenaries
Apple has alerted iPhone users in 98 countries about being targeted by “mercenary spyware attacks”. Apple rely on their internal threat intelligence to detect such attacks but have not divulged the details to avoid tipping off the threat actors involved.
These sophisticated attacks are likely orchestrated by private surveillance companies exploiting vulnerabilities to access sensitive data. Apple advises users to update their devices and employ strong security practices to mitigate risks.

Another Ransomware Payout
Back in late June I shared details of a ransomware attack on CDK Global, a software provider for car dealerships, that caused chaos in the car industry within the US.
CDK Global have since recovered from the incident. However, it is believed that they paid the ransom of $25 million! It is believed a third party was used to pay the attackers using Bitcoin.
